TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Health authorities in the Gaza Strip reported that 33 Palestinians were killed and more than 130 others injured in Israeli attacks and gunfire during the Eid al-Adha holiday period from Wednesday, May 28, to Saturday, May 31, according to Xinhua.In a daily update released on Sunday, the authorities said the death toll in Gaza since the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, had risen to 72,939, while the number of wounded reached 172,927.The report noted that a number of victims remain trapped beneath rubble and on roads across the enclave, while ambulance crews and civil defense teams continue to face significant difficulties in reaching them.Meanwhile, Raed Hussein, director of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, warned that the facility could soon cease operations because of a severe electricity crisis and the failure of both its primary and backup generators.Speaking at a press conference at the hospital, Hussein said the power shortage had already begun affecting critical departments, particularly operating rooms.Separately, a Palestinian man died on Sunday after being shot by Israeli forces near the separation barrier in the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, according to Palestinian sources.In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victim as 26-year-old Imad Ishtayeh from the village of Salem, east of Nablus.
