Switzerland's Council of the Swiss Abroad backed EU Bilateral Agreements III, citing CHF 300bn in annual bilateral trade at risk; a referendum vote is due no earlier than 2027. Rejection would void prior bilateral accords and cut access to EU research programs — CHF 340m in medtech investment has already left Vaud and Geneva since 2022.
