CINCINNATI — Elly De La Cruz may see his streak of 276 consecutive games played end Monday when the Kansas City Royals come to Great American Ball Park for a three-game series. But the Cincinnati Reds shortstop said he’s optimistic that he won’t miss much — if any — time after leaving in the fifth inning of the Reds’ 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves with right hamstring tightness on Sunday. De La Cruz is scheduled to have an MRI Monday morning.“I don’t believe it’s something bad — I really don’t,” De La Cruz said after the game, according to Tomas Vera, the Reds’ interpreter and athletic trainer. “Obviously, we’re going to see what the MRI says tomorrow, but I don’t feel like it’s something really bad at this moment.”De La Cruz, who dealt with a left quad injury for most of the second half of last season, said he wasn’t feeling any pain or soreness in his right hamstring, just a little tightness. He said he made sure to stop as soon as he felt the tightness.“He feels like he caught it before he did anything worse,” Reds manager Terry Francona said.
