Peter Boshier hosted Kīngi Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero and his wife, Te Makau Ariki Atawhai, at the Ombudsman's office.
Former Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier says he's "immensely honoured" to be knighted in this weekend's King's Birthday Honours but immediately pointed to his colleagues, wife and children as the people who have helped make his career possible.
"The family court judges who just work so hard - and often unseen - and in the Ombudsman's office, talented teams who just work so hard to achieve outcomes for people," Boshier said.
He was proud of his involvement in work to "open up" the family courts and to have spearheaded growth in the Ombudsman's office.
