The race to succeed outgoing Court of Appeal President Daniel Musinga has kicked off in earnest and opened the possibility of the court electing its first female leader as judges prepare for a closely contested vote later this month.
The June 22, 2026 election will determine the leader of the country's second-highest court for the next five years, with Justices Agnes Murgor, Gatembu Kairu and Lydia Achode considered among potential frontrunners in a field of six potential candidates.
