Woman injured as robber opens fire in Bagalkot

A woman was injured when she was shot at by a 30-year-old accused during a robbery attempt in Karadigudda village of Bagalkot district on Saturday night.Basavva Holeppa Mugali is now admitted in hospital where she is recovering.Accused Prashant Navi entered the house of Holeppa Mugali with the intention of taking away valuables.Basavva’s husband Mr. Mugali tried to catch him but, the robber shot at him. However, the bullet ricocheted and hit Basavva.The commotion woke up the neighbours who helped Mr. Mugali in restraining the accused. The police arrested him later.Superintendent of Police Siddarth Goel visited the spot.A case has been registered. Published - May 31, 2026 08:59 pm IST
