‘Monsoon holiday’ for sand collection begins June 1 along Godavari river
Monsoon holiday for sand collection begins June 1 along Godavari river, banning excavation until October 15 to protect resources.
India's MoEFCC imposes its annual sand excavation ban along the Godavari river from June 1 to October 15, with East Godavari district having pre-stocked 14.57 lakh metric tonnes across 43 reaches to buffer supply. The seasonal halt, enforced jointly by Mines, Revenue, Water Resources and Police departments, signals how regulatory cycles on natural resources directly constrain construction supply chains and infrastructure project timelines in the region.
