Nearly 15 months after he suffered a torn left ACL, Kyrie Irving said he’s almost fully recovered.“I am definitely close to being over at 100 percent in terms of my ACL recovery,” the Dallas Mavericks point guard said Saturday during a Twitch live stream. “It’s been a while now. It’s been a year and some change. I’m so grateful I’ve had some time to heal and experiment with my body on the court and off the court, in the weight room.”Irving’s left knee injury caused him to miss the final 20 games of the 2024-25 campaign and all of this season. Irving was in the midst of an All-Star season before he got hurt in March 2025. He averaged 24.7 points on 47.3 percent shooting from the field and 40.1 percent shooting from 3, while also adding 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.Additionally, Irving acknowledged in the live stream that he will be paying attention to the NBA Finals with the New York Knicks returning to the championship round for the first time in 27 years. Irving, who grew up in West Orange, N.J., and spent 3 1/2 seasons with the Brooklyn Nets before being traded to Dallas, praised the play of fellow point guard —and former Maverick — Jalen Brunson and weighed in on the potential atmosphere that the Knicks, in and outside of Madison Square Garden, could provide.
