A small mob even attempted to breach a Parisian police station.Speaking at a press briefing on Sunday, Nuñez stated that "the situation has been largely brought under control". He said that "most of the celebrations took place peacefully", throughout the French capital, and the majority of trouble occurred around the Champs Elysees area and near the Parc des Princes stadium in west Paris, where supporters had congregated to watch the match.Officers also responded five times during the night to stop people obstructing traffic on the main orbital motorway encircling Paris, he added. Nuñez confirmed incidents occurred in approximately 15 French cities, with "one to two" shops vandalised in each location outside Paris. He stated 780 individuals were detained overall, with 480 arrests in the Paris region alone. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed 277 people have been formally placed in police custody, including 82 juveniles, facing various alleged offences. However, Nuñez confirmed that the planned victory celebrations for Sunday afternoon at the Champ de Mars, near the Eiffel Tower, would proceed as arranged. He cautioned that police would respond with "firmness and determination" to any potential disorder. The PSG squad will subsequently be received by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee presidential palace.
