Minister for Women and Child Development Bindhu Krishna has said that those responsible for the tragic death of Arshit, a child who succumbed to brutal assaults allegedly by his mother and stepfather at Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram, will not escape the law.Terming the murder a heartbreaking incident that has deeply shaken the collective conscience of society, the Minister added that the government is viewing the matter with the utmost seriousness. She assured that airtight legal procedures are currently under way to ensure that justice is served swiftly and decisively.The Minister further said that the Director of the Women and Child Development department has been directed to conduct a comprehensive, loophole-free investigation into the incident and submit a detailed report immediately. She also added that the severe cruelties inflicted upon the child by his own mother are being meticulously documented as part of the case file.Promising that the perpetrators will face certain and severe punishment, Ms. Krishna reiterated that the department is actively working on preventative measures to ensure such horrific acts against children never repeat in the State.
