Sofia is preparing to once again become a major center for literature and reading as the Spring Book Fair returns from June 1 to June 7. The park in front of the National Palace of Culture will be transformed into a large open-air literary space, hosting more than 150 publishing houses, alongside dozens of Bulgarian and international authors and a wide program of events for readers of all ages.
The official opening is scheduled for June 1 at 11:00 in a specially constructed festival tent near the National Palace of Culture. Representatives of cultural institutions, publishers, and the literary community are expected to attend. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Book Association with support from the Ministry of Culture and the Sofia Municipality.
This year’s edition will feature more than 150 publishing houses from Bulgaria, presenting new titles, debut releases, and promotional discounts. Entry remains free for visitors, with opening hours set from 10:00 to 20:00 daily, and until 19:00 on the final day.
Running alongside the book fair from June 1 to June 6 will be the Sofia International Literature Festival for Children and Youth. The program will focus on meetings between young readers and authors, illustrators, and artists from various countries.
