Joint Press CorpsNvidia CEO Jensen Huang is set to visit Korea this week, stoking expectations over the artificial intelligence (AI) platform company’s collaboration with Korean partners in the field of physical AI.According to industry officials, Huang will visit Korea after appearing at major chip industry events in Taiwan, including GTC Taipei 2026 and COMPUTEX 2026. Given that GTC Taipei 2026, an Nvidia event, runs through Thursday, his schedule in Korea is expected to begin on Friday.Huang’s previous visit to Korea in October last year created headlines as he met with key partners including Samsung Electronics, SK hynix and Hyundai Motor Group to coordinate major issues related to high-bandwidth memory supplies and next-generation AI chip development. He also announced plans to supply 260,000 graphics processing units to Korea.Huang also earlier generated online buzz after sharing fried chicken and beer with Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun at a chicken restaurant in southern Seoul, drawing a massive crowd. While Huang’s previous visit focused on AI accelerators and their adoption, his upcoming trip is expected to place greater emphasis on physical AI technologies, including robotics. This time, Huang is expected to meet SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman of the Board Lee Hae-jin. Doosan Group’s top officials are also expected to meet with the Nvidia CEO.Except for SK Group, whose chipmaker SK hynix has been Nvidia’s main supplier of memory chips, the business officials expected to meet with Huang are from companies that have identified robotics and physical AI as key future growth drivers.LG Group, in particular, has been accelerating its transformation into a robotics and physical AI-focused group since LG Electronics unveiled its humanoid robot, CLOiD, at CES 2026 earlier this year. Since then, the company repeatedly identified Nvidia as one of its key strategic partners.CLOiD is powered by Nvidia chipsets and is trained in digital twin environments using Nvidia’s Isaac robotics platform. Last month, Nvidia Senior Director of Product Marketing Madison Huang, Jensen Huang’s daughter, met with LG Electronics CEO Lyu Jae-cheol to discuss collaboration between CLOiD and Nvidia’s robotics platforms.Nvidia Senior Director of Product Marketing Madison Huang, left, talks to Doosan Robotics CEO Kim Min-pyo, right, during the former's visit to Doosan Robotics Innovation Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, April 29. Courtesy of Doosan RoboticsDoosan Group is also seeking to use Huang’s visit as an opportunity to expand its presence in the physical AI sector. Last year, Doosan Group Vice Chairman Park Gee-won visited Nvidia to discuss cooperation in Doosan Enerbility’s power infrastructure business and Doosan Robotics’ robotics business. Nvidia Senior Director of Product Marketing Madison Huang also visited Doosan's robotics center during her trip to Korea last month.Doosan has been seeking to integrate physical AI into its core businesses, including construction machinery, power generation equipment and robotics, through collaboration with Nvidia. Through the partnership, the group plans to launch intelligent robotics solutions next year and industrial humanoid robots in 2028.Naver is expected to concentrate its Nvidia partnership on physical AI, such as digital twin. Naver Cloud signed a memorandum of understanding with Nvidia in October last year to combine its digital twin and robotics technologies with Nvidia’s Omniverse and Isaac Sim platforms. Through the collaboration, the companies aim to precisely replicate real-world industrial environments in virtual spaces and build systems in which AI can conduct analysis and control operations.“Investors expect LG and Naver to gain stronger momentum in physical AI and platform businesses through their partnerships with Nvidia,” Daishin Securities analyst Lee Kyoung-min said.
