Warriors coach Andrew Webster attempted to defuse the significance of their top-of-the-table clash with the Penrith Panthers.
Most Warriors fans would think otherwise if they were to extend their winning streak to seven matches in Sydney on Sunday.
Webster’s side, second after Wednesday’s State of Origin opener, would go level on points with the Panthers on top of the standings if they were victorious on the road.
“They've been the pinnacle for the last six years. We're looking forward to the challenge, that's for sure, and regardless of what happens on the weekend when we come off, it's not guaranteeing us anything,” Webster said.
“It's not guaranteeing us a bad rest of the season, or it's not guaranteeing us that we're going to kick on and do well. It is two points up for grabs at the end of the day.”
