Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, says he will inaugurate 10,000 canvassers in Ijesa North on June 10 in a major show of political strength and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the state’s next governorship election, as his campaign intensifies efforts to consolidate support across key voting blocs in the state.
The planned inauguration, announced by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, is expected to bring together thousands of supporters from the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency and marks one of the largest grassroots voter-engagement exercises undertaken by the Adeleke re-election campaign. Campaign officials say the initiative is aimed at boosting voter awareness, expanding door-to-door outreach and strengthening the governor’s political base in Ijesa North as preparations for the election gather momentum.
The announcement comes barely 24 hours after Olajengbesi received the Accord Party’s Certificate of Return as the party’s candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ijesa-born lawyer expressed gratitude to the people of Ijesa North and members of the Accord Party for entrusting him with the party’s ticket. He described the planned inauguration as the beginning of a broader political movement aimed at deepening grassroots participation, expanding development opportunities and strengthening democratic engagement across the constituency.
