Labour leadership hopeful Wes Streeting has criticised the Government and claimed voters don’t have an idea what of what the Prime Minister’s vision is for the country is.
Speaking to The Times, Streeting explained why he resigned as Health Secretary and said he now feels “liberated”.
“I don’t think people get him. I don’t think they have any kind of emotional connection to him,” he said. “And I don’t think they understand who he is or why he wants to be prime minister and what his vision for the country is.”
Despite acknowledging the level of anger towards Starmer is disproportionate, Streeting added that there was a “substance problem with the government”.
