The heir to the Iranian throne, Prince Reza Pahlavi, visited Odesa to attend the Black Sea Security Forum and spoke with Kyiv Post about his vision for Ukrainian-Iranian relations. He discussed how the peoples of the two nations have been unexpectedly connected by Russia’s aggression and the involvement of the Ayatollah regime in it.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “I am happy to be here in Odesa, and to lend my voice in support of the brave individuals defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity. We have common interests – the Iranian people are suffering under a regime that supports Russia in its aggression against Ukraine, and the destiny of our nations is to support one another. I also greatly appreciate the many Ukrainians who support Iranians in their pursuit of freedom,” Pahlavi said. “We’re in this fight together,” he added. Reza Pahlavi is the heir to Iran’s former monarchy who was forced to leave Iran with his family after the Islamist regime seized power in 1979. Pahlavi continues to closely monitor developments in Iran and, in 2025, voiced his support for the country’s mass protest movements.
