The search continues for Umhlanga businessman, Tony Govender, who is presumed to have drowned at Hazelmere Dam
Family members kept vigil at Hazelmere Dam yesterday, hoping to find Umhlanga businessman, Tony Govender, who is presumed to have drowned.
Govender, 54, a former Navy Officer, had gone to the dam with friends on Friday when he allegedly attempted to retrieve a jet-ski that had drifted away in strong winds.
Govender's wife Essie, who joined the family at the dam on Saturday, said Tony had celebrated his birthday on May 25.
"His friends took him out as a treat. We spent the entire day searching at the dam but couldn't find him. We shall return on Sunday," said Essie.
