India Post (Tamil Nadu Postal Circle) on the occasion of Vaikasi Visakam released Permanent Pictorial Cancellations (PPCs) for the Six Sacred Abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan, on Saturday.According to a press release, as part of the initiative, the PPCs for the two temples in Madurai district: Thirupparankundram Temple and Pazhamudircholai (Alagarkovil) Temple were released by the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices of Madurai Division Chitturi Ramakrishna.The PPCs have been specially designed to highlight the spiritual, historical, and cultural significance of the sacred abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Muruga located in Madurai district.Permanent Pictorial Cancellations are the special postal cancellations introduced to provide a unique postal identity to important historical, cultural, and tourist destinations across the country. They play a significant role in promoting culture, heritage, tourism, and philately, the press release said.The release functions were held at Thirupparankundram Sub Post Office and Alagarkovil Sub Post Office. The events were attended by Mr. Chitturi Ramakrishna, Senior Postmaster Mariappan, postal department officials, philatelists, devotees, and the public.
