Some reports suggest this was during a selfie attempt.A man reported to be Aman Kumar, 25, could be seen hitting a support pole before plunging head-first around 10 to 15ft.Several bystanders attended to the stricken man, who could be seen with his face covered in blood and his leg at an alarming angle following the horror incident at a fairground in Rajgir, in India's Bihar state, on Monday.Mr Kumar, from Biku village in the Nawada district, was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries. Following initial treatment, he was taken to another facility in Pavapuri before being moved to a third hospital in Patna, but he died during the journey.Mr Kumar had gone to the Malmas Fair with his parents, siblings and his cousin Prince.Prince, who was also on the ride at the time, told local media: "We decided to go on the Tsunami ride together while visiting the fair. After buying tickets, we got on the ride."As soon as it started, Aman suddenly lost balance and his safety belt came loose and he fell."Local police are now looking into the possibility of negligence or mechanical failure being behind the incidentAnother line of inquiry is if Mr Kumar was attempting to take a selfie or record a reel when he fell.Jitendra Ram, a police officer who was stationed at the fair, said: "Preliminary investigation suggests that the youth was trying to take a selfie or make a reel."The police are investigating all aspects to ascertain the exact cause of the death."Rajgir Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeet Kumar Gupta told local media: "Action has been taken against the ride operator under relevant sections of law."The ride has been seized, and all other rides have been suspended from operation as a safety precaution."It comes after a woman in Russia died during an adrenaline-fuelled birthday after jumping and swinging from the tower with "elastic rope" and fell to her death. The 31-year-old man was part of a hiking group at Mount Nama in Sichuan and, according to reports at the time, was only identified as Mr Hong.He slipped near a crevasse after reportedly undoing his safety rope to take photos on the snowy mountaintop. Witnesses said he was not using an ice axe and could not regain control as he fell 200 metres (650ft) down the mountain while the other hikers watched helplessly.Footage shared on social media shows the moment he fell over the snow and tumbled down the 5,588-metre peak. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
