A driver lost his life in the early hours of Saturday after a Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) reportedly lost control and somersaulted several times along the busy Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos State.
The fatal lone accident occurred at Charity Bus Stop, inward Iyana Isolo, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
LASTMA disclosed that the victim died instantly after the vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to a stop, leaving the driver trapped inside the mangled wreckage.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, emergency responders from LASTMA and the Nigeria Police Force swiftly mobilised to the scene to carry out rescue and recovery operations.
