The smoke plume is so large, residents have reported spotting it as far away as Manchester city centre with images on social media showing a massive cloud.Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement: "Crews are currently tackling a large fire at a scrap yard on Moston Road, Chadderton. Firefighters are using six hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Firefighters have been in attendance for around an hour and are still at the scene.”
