The trailer of Karisma Kapoor’s upcoming series, Brown, was unveiled by the makers on Saturday (May 30, 2026). Directed by Abhinay Deo, the series also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Surya Sharma, Soni Razdan and Ajinkya Deo in pivotal roles.The trailer introduces Karisma as Rita Brown, a disturbed cop, who is attached on a high-profile murder of a teenager. Facing her own psychological demons, Rita takes on the case along with her junior, Arjun, played by Surya. Jisshu plays a psychiatrist, who seems to know vital information about the case. The trailer shows Karisma trying to solve the mystery as one more murder rocks the city. The series promises to be a dark and gritty investigative thriller.Speaking about the show, Karisma said in a statement, “Rita Brown is unlike any character I’ve played before. She is flawed, vulnerable, emotionally bruised, yet incredibly resilient in the way she keeps moving forward despite everything life throws at her. What drew me to Brown was the emotional honesty of the writing. There’s no attempt to glamorise pain or simplify human relationships.”Jisshu added, “What I enjoyed about Brown is that it keeps unfolding layer by layer. There’s suspense, but there’s also a lot of emotional depth in the writing, which makes it feel more personal than just a conventional thriller. As an actor, those are the worlds I have always enjoyed being part of.”Produced by Zee Studios, Brown is adapted from the book City of Death by Abhik Barua. It will be released on ZEE5 on June 5.
