The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday said some centres conducting the CUET-UG 2026 examination experienced delays due to a technical glitch, while assuring candidates that they would be provided full compensatory time.In a post on X, the agency attributed the disruption to a technical issue at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which manages the examination infrastructure. The problem has since been fixed, NTA said.CUET UG new timings:According to the revised schedule, candidates appearing for the afternoon session can begin reporting and entry from 2:30 pm, while the examination will now start at 4:00 pm instead of the scheduled 3:00 pm. The agency also clarified that candidates in the morning session are being allowed the full duration of the examination and will leave the centres only after completing their allotted test time.“TCS has reported that a technical glitch at their end delayed the commencement of CUET (UG) 2026 at some centres on 30.05.2026. The issue has since been resolved, and the exam is being conducted with full compensatory time so that no candidate is disadvantaged,” the NTA said.The agency expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to students and parents.The development comes days after the NTA postponed the CUET-UG 2026 examinations scheduled for May 28 due to a revision in the date of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday announced by the government.At the time, the agency said both shifts of the May 28 examination would be held on revised dates, which are yet to be announced.“Important update for CUET (UG) 2026 candidates. The examinations scheduled for 28 May 2026 (both shifts) stand postponed in view of the change in the date of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday as per the Government of India notification. Revised exam dates for affected candidates will be announced shortly,” the NTA had said in its earlier post on X.
