Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday evening, looking to complete an historic double after winning the Premier League title09:03, 30 May 2026Arsenal have learnt from their defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season and now have the tools to beat them, according to Martin Keown. The Gunners face the defending champions in the final on Saturday evening knowing victory would secure an historic double.Mikel Arteta's side are full of confidence after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years and now face a new test. PSG overcame Arsenal in the semi-final last year before thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in the final, and have shown their firepower in the knockout stages this season. The French champions laid waste to Chelsea and Liverpool before getting past Bayern Munich in a high-scoring semi-final. They are packed full of attacking talent and Arsenal know just how difficult the challenge is, having lost both legs of their semi-final a year ago.Arsenal are therefore considered the underdogs, but Keown is convinced things will be different this time thanks to a deeper squad. The former defender feels there is now greater quality across the pitch and that Arsenal have the big-game mentality, with their defeat by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final serving as a learning experience.FOLLOW OUR ARSENAL FB PAGE! Latest Gunners news and more on our dedicated Facebook page"You know, in the two games they had last yeah, I thought [Gianluigi] Donnarumma - who is no longer with us in terms of PSG - was magnificent in those two games," Keown said on TNT Sports. "And I look at the Arsenal team and in every compartment we are stronger."[Jakub] Kiwior played in those two games last year. Gabriel [Magalhaes] returns with [William] Saliba - fantastic, the best partnership in Europe, for me. Then in midfield, Lewis-Skelly is coming in there, which I think is his best position, so that makes us stronger. [Martin] Zubimendi has joined the club and the midfield is stronger.HAVE YOUR SAY! Do Arsenal have enough to beat PSG? Comment below."Then at the top of the team, where [Kai] Havertz went off to have his operation on his hamstring and didn't play in that game last year, we now have [Viktor] Gyokeres or Havertz to play there. So there are many more options for Arsenal. We are much stronger this year."And the new format, where we win the league as the top team, PSG had to play an extra game. It's like two competitions and Arsenal have found a way through the knockout stages, they've not conceded in open play in the knockouts. So this manager adapts really well."I think the League Cup final, where Arsenal were second best, will be a nice dress rehearsal for this one, because there's a certain way to play in a final."You (Owen Hargreaves) know this: the way you behave, the noise, the hysteria around it, the clamour when you're in Europe, your fans abroad, it's extra special. But the fact they've played in a recent final - [even though] it didn't work - I think will help them in this. But PSG is the ultimate test now, we know that."Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
