By Malay Mail Saturday, 30 May 2026 12:00 PM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — A trailer driver cheated death after exiting his vehicle moments before it suddenly rolled forward and plunged into a ravine along the Gua Musang-Lojing road in Kelantan.The dramatic incident unfolded at Km90 of the route at about 7.30am yesterday when the 30-year-old driver stopped his trailer after suspecting a brake failure.According to Harian Metro, Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the driver, who was travelling from Port Klang to Lojing, pulled over on the left shoulder to inspect the vehicle after noticing problems with the braking system.But while he was checking the trailer, it suddenly began rolling forward on its own before plunging into a ravine beside the road.In a stroke of luck, the driver had already climbed out of the vehicle and escaped unhurt.Police received a report on the incident at about 10am.“The driver realised the trailer was experiencing brake problems and stopped the vehicle on the left shoulder of the road for an inspection.“Suddenly, the trailer moved forward and fell into a ravine on the left side of the road.“The driver did not suffer any injuries in the incident,” Sik was quoted as saying.The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59.Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward to assist in investigations.
