NATIONAL 800 metres champion Navasky Anderson will be one of four Jamaicans scheduled to compete today at the Under Armour Track Nationals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.The meet, which will feature both professionals and top high- school athletes from across the United States, will also see national senior female 800m champion Kelly-Ann Beckford, along with Edwin Allen High schoolgirl Kevongaye Fowler and schoolboy Joel Morgan, in action.The three-day meet, which started yesterday, will see the Jamaicans competing this evening in the 800m.Anderson, who was seventh in last year's Tokyo World Championships where he clocked a national record 1:42.76, will run in section one of the men's 800m event. Here, he will face the likes of Handal Roban of St Vincent, the national record holder in the event and a former standout at Jamaica College at the ISSA-GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships (Champs). The line-up will also include Wes Ferguson of the United States and Edose Ibadin of Nigeria.Beckford, who defeated many-time national champion Natoya Goule-Toppin at last year's National Championships, will face American Lindsay Butler in the women's event.The Edwin Allen duo of Fowler, the Class Two 800m champion at this year's Champs, and Morgan, who won the Boys' Class One event, will both face tough opposition in their respective events.In the female section, Fowler will go up against several members of the IMG Academy team, which won the Championship of America Girls' 4x800m title at this year's Penn Relays in Philadelphia. .On the male side, Morgan, who ran a personal best 1:49.93 to win at Champs, will face several members of the Union Catholic boys' team that finished second in the Championship of America 4x800m in Philadelphia.
