The Oyo State Nigeria Democratic Congress has restated its determination to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state at the 2027 general election.
Towards achieving the goal, the party’s state Chairman, Mrs Oyeronke Akinlolu, urged party faithful “to team up to ensure a landslide victory in the forthcoming election.”
Akinlolu stressed that the anticipated victory by the party could only be actualised if its machinery demonstrated untiring commitment to the course for which the party was inaugurated – to bring true democracy to bear.
The state’s NDC chairman spoke on Friday during the presentation and ratification of the party’s candidates for state-level elective positions. The exercise was coordinated by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Council.
Akinlolu charged party faithful to work in unison for a sweeping victory and not let the party down, emphasising the need for them to get their PVCs ready. “Your franchise is guaranteed by the voter card without which you will not be able to vote,” she said.
