It's hard not to be concerned about the use of the people's army as a tool in the service of a faith-based extremist movement, ChabadAnyone traveling on Israel's highways has seen the signs put up by Chabad showing the last Lubavitcher rebbe, the late Menachem M. Schneerson, and proclaiming that the Messiah has come. The authorities don't seem to have any intention of fighting this annoyance, but it's probably one of the things that have to be tolerated in the name of freedom of expression. That isn't the case with the "Messiah" patch decorating the uniforms of some Israeli soldiers.
