Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) says it has destroyed a major Russian electronic intelligence facility in Krasnodar Krai, overnight on May 29-29, striking deep inside Russian territory in a bid to weaken Moscow’s recent strikes against Ukrainian cities. As per their Telegram post, the overnight operation was carried out by special forces from its “Alpha” Center using long-range strike drones against an installation belonging to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). The site, located in the Temryuk district near the Black Sea coast, was used for signals intelligence and to support missile, drone attacks on Ukraine.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “Such special operations are of strategic importance, because they weaken the ability of the Russian Federation to control the airspace, coordinate the work of air defense facilities and strike at Ukraine. The defeat of the electronic intelligence centers opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian drones and complicates Russia from protecting military facilities in the deep rear,” the ministry added. In the statement, SBU said the strike hit several buildings and antenna complexes that formed a part of an FSB signals intelligence hub responsible for intercepting communications and supporting Russian strikes against Ukraine. The facility possibly monitored Ukrainian military communications, tracked satellite traffic, and helped adjust drone and missile routes aimed at Ukrainian infrastructure.
