United States President, Donald Trump, is set to decide on a proposed agreement with Iran that could lead to the lifting of the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports from White House.

Trump disclosed that he would meet with aides on Friday to make “a final decision” on a possible deal with Iran amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East and preventing further disruption to global oil supplies.

The development comes as negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue under a fragile ceasefire arrangement brokered to create room for formal talks between both sides.

Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, struck a cautious tone over the negotiations, insisting that Tehran remained sceptical of American assurances.
