The Federal Government on Friday strengthened efforts to expand the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Nigeria with the commissioning of a high-capacity gas station in Abuja capable of serving over 1,000 vehicles daily.
The facility, developed by Rolling Energy Limited in partnership with the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), is located in Jahi, Abuja, and forms part of government enabled investments aimed at promoting gas utilisation, reducing dependence on conventional fuels and improving energy security.
The High Capacity CNG Daughter Booster Station has a sales capacity of 1,000 Standard Cubic Metres (SCM) per hour, supported by two CNG tube skids with a combined storage capacity of 17,000 SCM.
