The Plateau State Government has unveiled plans for the maiden edition of the Plateau State Science, Technology and Innovation Festival scheduled to hold from June 1 to 3, 2026, in Jos.

The festival, tagged PLASSTIFEST, will take place at the Crispan Suites and Event Centre.

Speaking during a press briefing in Jos on Friday, the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Cletus Shurkuk, said the initiative was aimed at showcasing the state’s innovation potential, connecting innovators with investors and positioning Plateau as a hub for science, technology and innovation.

According to him, the event, themed “Reimagining Plateau: Driving Innovation and Technology for a Smarter and Sustainable Future,” aligns with the vision of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to transform the state through science and technology.

Shurkuk acknowledged challenges facing the state in sectors such as education, agriculture, mining, youth unemployment and infrastructure, but noted that Plateau possessed enormous potential driven by its youthful population and growing innovation ecosystem.
