The Multi-Purpose Facilitation Centre (MPFC) godowns built across Kadapa district under the Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) will soon be made accessible to farmers.Of the 21 godowns constructed under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF), 17 have already been allotted by the Marketing Department to various PACS functioning across the district, Kadapa Collector Sridhar Cherukuri said while chairing a district-level review meeting of officials from the agriculture, cooperative, marketing and allied departments on Friday.The godowns are intended to help farmers store their agricultural produce and sell it when market prices become remunerative.Mr. Cherukuri directed officials of the District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) to create awareness among farmers about the scheme under which loans can be availed by pledging agricultural produce as collateral. He also instructed the District Cooperative Officer to clear the pending bills related to the construction of the MPFC godowns.The Collector also released a book outlining the action plan for natural farming during 2026-27, prepared in view of the anticipated impact of El Nino.
