Stellantis $STLA +0.49% is recalling 419,035 vehicles in the United States after a software error was found that could delay side air bags from deploying during a crash, according to Reuters.

Vehicles affected by the defect do not meet U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, according to the NHTSA. Among the models subject to the recall are the Jeep Grand Cherokee from model years 2022 through 2026 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee L from model years 2023 through 2025.

Owners can have the occupant restraint controller module software updated at no cost through their dealers, the NHTSA said.
