ASTANA, May 29. /TASS/. The leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states endorsed a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence at a summit in Astana, marking a new chapter in the bloc’s activities, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
"Today’s summit and the Eurasian Economic Forum currently underway are highly significant events that open a new chapter in the work of our integration association. Alongside joint economic decisions, a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence within the Eurasian Economic Union was adopted," he said.
"This lays the institutional foundation for our organization to progress to a qualitatively new stage of development," Tokayev added.
He also expressed hope that the events in Astana "will help further strengthen the economic potential" of the EAEU member states, as well as enhance "the business climate and the well-being of the citizens of the member states."
In addition, Tokayev thanked the leaders of the EAEU member and observer states for their contributions during the events in Astana.
