Brazilian data center firm Ascenty is planning four new facilities.
Announced this week, the company aims to invest $1.2 billion (5.9 billion reais) to deliver 150MW of contracted capacity over the next 18 months.
“In three months, we closed contracts representing 40 percent of everything we’ve done in 15 years,” said Chris Torto, CEO of Ascenty, highlighting the speed at which demand for AI computing capacity is transforming the sector.

The first new data center will be built in Sumaré, on the campus that already houses two facilities, and will be the first in Latin America to be designed from the ground up for large-scale AI workloads.
