They were fresh off a national championship, the Buckeyes’ first since 2014, and their confidence in Ryan Day reflected that, with 63 percent of voters in our 2025 fan survey saying they would give Day an “A” for his performance in his six years as head coach — despite a four-game losing streak to Michigan.Sixty-six percent of voters said that Ohio State would win the Big Ten, and 47 percent said the Buckeyes would finish the regular season 11-1. Only 44 people predicted the correct 12-0 record, which included a long-awaited win over the Wolverines. But that undefeated regular season didn’t lead to any postseason success, as the Buckeyes lost to Indiana in the Big Ten title game and Miami in the CFP quarterfinals
So what is the mood like heading into the 2026 season? Expectations are always soaring in Columbus, though Ohio State again lost the most NFL Draft picks (11) and will have to navigate one of the toughest schedules in the country with road games against USC, Texas, Iowa and Indiana and home games against Michigan and Oregon.We invite Ohio State readers to share their thoughts, predictions, concerns and more below.
