Atletico Madrid’s forward Julián Álvarez is at the centre of a major transfer development after Barcelona submitted an official €100 million offer to Atlético Madrid.

The bid is understood to be a straight cash proposal with no add-ons and no players included, marking Barcelona’s first formal move for the Argentine forward.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Friday, reports indicate that Atlético Madrid have reacted negatively to the approach over the past 24 hours, with the club unhappy about both the timing and the structure of the offer. Despite that, the situation remains open as no agreement has been reached between the two clubs.
