However in a new video on her Instagram page on Thursday, the soap icon’s partner, Jon McEwan, explained that it had been a “down day” after their latest visit to the hospital. In the clip, he told the camera: “Been to the hospital, got some news, they’re going to try to start radiotherapy as soon as they can, but here we are now. We’ve come home, we’ve got some friends here. It’s been a down day and then I made sangria. Got some friends here, cooking a BBQ…”Despite feeling “down”, he panned the camera over to Bev who was surrounded by their pals as the group laughed loudly and sipped on cocktails. When she announced that they were on “the fifth jug” of sangria and teased that there “could be more” on the way, Jon added: “Sometimes you’ve just got to let go”.Alongside the clip, Bev wrote: “Sometimes all you need is @jonmmac60, good friends and 5 jugs of sangria! It feels like it’s been a long week, but this was a pretty good ending to a day of mixed feelings! F**k cancer!”Right on cue, fans rushed to support the couple in the comments below, urging them to enjoy their cocktails and much-needed downtime.“Love you two . God bless you both. Hope you are also getting some support. I know it's a journey you are taking together,” one wrote. An Instagram user replied: “You so deserve a few sangrías i love you .you are a very strong woman.”“Thinking of Beverly and yourself, you will get there. Enjoy those Sangrias you deserve it,” another penned, while a follower commented: “God bless Bev You’re a beautiful lady inside out. You deserve a sangrias or more.”She first spoke publicly about her condition in February, explaining that she got the diagnosis just minutes before she was due on the set of her new show, Fair City.Since then, the jungle favourite has been posting updates on social media, while being showered with love from concerned fans.Earlier this week, she detailed her latest appointment with a new team - who were “a little concerned” about her treatment schedule so far."Well I went to the hospital today,” she said in the clip. “They all seemed very nice, obviously they're new to me ... They are a little concerned because they think I should've started the radiotherapy before now."But of course because we moved house, it took a while for my medical records to come from England to Ireland et cetera but they've all arrived [now].“I've got to go back on Thursday morning to see some more doctors and medical people and then they will begin it soon. So it went okay, it went okay. So I will keep you updated."Article continues belowLike this story?
