TAP Air Portugal is launching a new route between Lisbon and Athens, starting July 1, with five flights a week.From Humberto Delgado Airport, flights will depart at 9:30pm every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving at Athens International Airport (AIA) at 3:40am the following day.In the opposite direction, departures from Athens will take place at 4:40am every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Lisbon at 7:15am (local time).“Athens is a destination no one should miss, where history meets modern life. The Greek capital captivates visitors with the majestic Acropolis and the iconic Parthenon, world-class museums, and picturesque neighborhoods like Plaka. Lively markets, panoramic views, and a vibrant cultural scene complete the picture, making Athens a unique destination for every traveler. From Athens, visitors can also set out to explore Greece’s top tourist destinations,” said TAP Air Portugal executives during an event marking the launch of the route.The event was attended by the Portuguese Ambassador to Greece Rui Macieira.Flights between Athens and Lisbon will be operated with Airbus A320neo aircraft during the summer months and with Embraer E190 aircraft during the IATA winter season.
