ABUJA — Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, for the 2027 general elections, Adewole Adebayo, has vowed to confront corruption, insecurity and poverty head-on if elected president, saying the country can still reclaim its lost greatness through credible leadership and people-oriented governance.
Adebayo, in a statement outlining his vision for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 polls, said the SDP remained committed to the ideals that made it victorious during the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, popularly known as MKO Abiola.
The SDP candidate said he was honoured to lead the party into the 2027 elections, stressing that the party had remained consistent with its founding principles since its formation.
“I am deeply honoured to have been chosen to lead the Social Democratic Party into the 2027 election. It is a party I have belonged to since 1991 and one which stands true to its principles,” he said.
