In a bid to cushion the economic burden of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration on residents, the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos State distributed over 1,000 rams to residents at a subsidised rate of N80,000.

The initiative, which drew a crowd of beneficiaries across the council area, was described by the council leadership as part of efforts to support families and promote grassroots welfare during the festive period.

Speaking during the coordination of the exercise, the Chairman of the LCDA, Seyi Jakande, said the programme reflected his administration’s commitment to progressive governance and people-centred leadership.

According to him, the intervention was designed to reduce the financial pressure many residents face during Sallah, especially amid the rising cost of livestock in the open market.

“We promised progressive governance for the residents during our election campaign, and this is part of it,” Jakande said.
