Amira the border collie had evaded capture twice, survived in a rugged bush area for almost 150 days, and would almost certainly still be there if it wasn’t for the dedication of Lauren Moses.
Border collie Amira was recovered after 147 days wild in Dunedin, caught via a DIY trap with a burner-phone motion alert. Two prior escapes drove three trap redesigns; a student-built IoT sensor finally triggered the successful capture.
