Here’s everything you need to know.**Warning - this article contains major spoilers for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2.**What happened to Jamie Reynolds?Throughout the season, Pip and her friends discover Jamie had been wrapped up with a mysterious catfisher called Layla Mead, who in turn is connected to the case of an equally enigmatic individual known only as Child Brunswick.Child Brunswick is the alias of Jack, the six-year-old son of a vile child killer called Scott Brunswick, who murdered six children years ago by using Jack to lure them into his van.Jack testified against his father and was given five years of a custodial sentence himself before being put into a witness protection programme and given the new identity of Stanley Forbes (Misia Butler), a golf club security guard whom Pip runs into throughout the series.Jamie is convinced by Layla to kill Stanley, but he’s overpowered and locked in Stanley’s bathroom. The two eventually become friends when Jamie talks to Stanley about his situation, and they agree he’ll stay with them until Layla’s identity is unearthed. At the end of the series, Jamie is alive and well and is seen nurturing his passion for music. So, who was Layla Mead?Layla was actually the dating app alias of Pip’s new neighbour, Charlie Green (Jack Rowan), the twin brother of one of Scott Brunswick’s victims, Emily.Charlie had been moving around the UK chasing rumours of Child Brunswick’s appearance, determined to take revenge for the part he played in his sister’s murder. In the final episode, Charlie confronts Stanley in the abandoned manor in Little Kilton and shoots him before setting the building on fire.Stanley is killed despite Pip’s efforts to save him, and Charlie flees. Later, Pip organises a funeral for Stanley but is left furious when a nearby building is graffitied with the words “Child killer burn in hell Child Brunswick”. This is presumed to have been left by Max, whose family home had been vandalised by Pip earlier in the series, writing “Rapist I will get you” on the front door.Pip is left traumatised by the ordeal and suffers from a panic attack after seeing the graffiti. Meanwhile, Max is allowed to walk free and smugly taunts Pip on her way to the funeral with his arm around a young blonde woman. She is also still receiving threatening messages by the final episode, with someone breaking into her bedroom to write “Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?” over and over on her laptop. Is Max responsible or does Pip have another sinister stalker lurking in the shadows? Fans can either wait for season three, which has yet to be confirmed, or read Holly Jackson’s third book in the series, As Good as Dead.Article continues belowA Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 is available on BBC iPlayer and internationally on Netflix.
