The rider, from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, died after the accident at Doran's Bend on the course.It happened on the first lap of the third qualifying session in the Sidecar class. Ingham leaves behind his wife and two children.A statement read: "The Isle of Man TT Races regrets to confirm that Daniel Ingham, 33, from Melton Mowbray, was killed in an incident during qualifying yesterday at the Isle of Man TT Races."The accident occurred at Doran’s Bend, on the first lap of the third qualifying session. Daniel made his Mountain Course debut in 2016 as a competitor in the Manx Grand Prix before graduating to the Isle of Man TT Races."He had achieved a number of podium finishes during his 10 years’ experience of competing – most notably achieving a 1st place in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix."The Isle of Man TT Races pass on their deepest sympathy to his wife, Helayna, and his son Joey and daughter Phoebe, as well as his family and friends."On Wednesday, the Isle of Man TT confirmed that the Sidecar class would be suspended for the remainder of the event which runs until Saturday, June 6. It explained: "This precautionary measure has been implemented in the interests of competitor and spectator safety and reflects the Race Organisation's commitment to reviewing all aspects of event safety and operational delivery whenever an incident occurs."All sidecar competitors and teams involved in the event have been briefed by Race Officials on the outcome of the initial review and the next stages of the assessment process. We recognise the long-standing history of Sidecar racing at the TT, together with the commitment of the competitors, teams and supporters involved in the class."This decision has not been taken lightly. However, the safety of competitors, spectators, marshals, officials and all those involved in the event must remain the priority. Further updates will be provided in due course through official Isle of Man TT Races channels."Ingham made his TT debut in 2026 after more than a decade on the Mountain Course. The 33-year-old had competed in the Manx Grand Prix since 2016.He won the Senior Manx Grand Prix two years ago. Tributes have poured in following the news of his death.His passing marks the first death at the TT since 2024.
