Kyiv will finance the first acquisition with funds from the EU's €90 billion loan
Ukraine will buy up to 20 Gripen fighter jets from Sweden and receive 16 older jets as a donation, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced on Thursday.
The announcement represents a first step in Ukraine’s plan to purchase up to 150 Gripen jets.
“I think that in December, January, we will get the first Gripens,” Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with the Swedish prime minister.
