A man has been arrested in northern Greece on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a Pakistani national whose headless, legless corpse was found in the sea four years ago.

The 35-year-old suspect, who is also from Pakistan, is believed to be one of four Pakistanis allegedly involved in the murder. The motive was not immediately known.

The 24-year-old victim’s mutilated corpse was found in June 2020 dumped in the sea between Halastra and Kalohori, near the northern port city of Thessaloniki.

Authorities had trouble identifying it, but were eventually able to do so on the basis of the fingerprints as the arms and hands had not been removed.
