Former world heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are edging closer to a long-awaited blockbuster “Battle of Britain” showdown after both fighters confirmed plans to return to the ring this summer.

Fury revealed he will make his comeback in Dublin on August 1, just one week after Joshua’s scheduled return bout against Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25.

The two British boxing stars are now on course for a potential heavyweight mega-fight later this year, with November emerging as the likely date for the much-anticipated clash.

Fury confirmed his return through an Instagram story showing the former champion back in training in Thailand alongside the caption: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland.”
