The Israel Hayom newspaper reported on Wednesday, May 27, that U.S. President Donald Trump had sent the draft text of a memorandum of understanding with Iran to a number of regional leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asking them to express their views on the document.

According to the report, the draft text, which was sent to regional leaders over the past 24 hours, was one of the central topics of a recent phone call between Trump and Netanyahu. However, it remains unclear whether this text is a version that Iran has also agreed to or whether it represents Washington's latest proposal to Tehran.

Citing informed diplomatic sources, Israel Hayom wrote that this move could indicate that the parties are moving toward reaching an understanding.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media published a different version of what they termed an "informal draft"—a document that makes no mention of Iran's nuclear program and instead emphasizes the withdrawal of the U.S. Navy from the region and an end to the maritime blockade of Iran.

According to that report, Tehran is demanding that the U.S. fleet move away from the Strait of Hormuz, offering in return a commitment to restore commercial shipping traffic in the waterway to pre-war levels within one month.
