On May 14, Lee Andrews was allegedly arrested after lying low for a few days, having failed to get on a flight to the UK.Earlier that week, Andrews was due to appear on Good Morning Britain with his wife, meaning he would have needed to leave Dubai, where he lives. He sent Katie and the ITV team a video of himself, allegedly at Muscat International, waiting for his flight.But... Lee didn't make his flight; instead, Katie claimed a business matter came up, so he needed to remain in Dubai. Just a day later, he shared another video, allegedly at Muscat International – but it emerged that he was actually at Dubai International's Terminal Two.A day later, he was arrested and told his wife that he was being held in the back of a van with his hands tied, although not with handcuffs. But while Katie faced two weeks of pain not knowing where her husband was, she spoke to him on May 27 and was told he'd been jailed, despite her previously denying this.Lee's dad, Peter, texted Katie to explain that he was actually behind bars and was jailed after authorities in the United Arab Emirates allegedly believed he was a spy. "It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy," Katie said of her one-minute-long phone call with Andrews. She added to The Sun: "I have found him. He is alive, and he is OK. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him." But the publication claims that Lee hasn't been held on spying charges; instead, he's allegedly been detained over a private civil matter. On Monday, he's due to be released and will be required to pay a four-figure fine. Prior to his arrest, Lee had moved all his belongings out of his rented property and then briefly moved in with his dad. However, his whereabouts after this remain unknown, and Lee's family, as well as Katie, filed a missing persons report with the British embassy. Today, Katie has detailed her brief call with Lee, during which she told him he was the "most hated man in Britain".After speaking to her sister Sophie about Lee being found alive, her younger sister let out an audible sigh. "All I know is that, they thought he was a spy so he was interrogated," Katie replied. She said that his vanishing act had been "a worry" to her, and she had questioned whether he was in fact dead or alive. Katie also revealed the blunt message she told her man in the brief chat, admitting he is the "most hated man in Britain". She said the claim shocked her man and she told him: "Trust me, you are the most hated man in Britain. Everyone thinks this is a scam."Article continues belowShe also explained that she has demanded that Lee give a sit-down interview to reveal all.Like this story?
